LA28 Names Archer Official Air Taxi Provider for 2028 Olympics

For the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, Archer Aviation has been named the official air taxi provider, introducing its electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft called Midnight. This four-passenger air taxi will operate between vertiports established at key venues such as SoFi Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, enabling quick, quiet, and emission-reduced transport for VIPs, fans, and stakeholders across the sprawling city. The partnership aims to enhance the Games experience and transform urban mobility in Los Angeles, a city notorious for heavy traffic, by offering efficient aerial transportation options. Archer is working with the FAA to certify the Midnight aircraft, which features 12 electric motors and redundant safety systems comparable to commercial airliners. The service will also support emergency services and security during the Games and is part of a broader vision to leave a lasting legacy on American transportation. This initiative aligns with Archer’s ongoing efforts to develop air taxi networks in other major cities, including plans in New York City in partnership with United Airlines.
