Santa Barbara Stabbing Kills One, Injures Two During Fiesta; Suspect Arrested

During Santa Barbara's annual Old Spanish Days Fiesta Week, three people were stabbed on State Street shortly before 12:30 a.m. One victim died from their injuries, while the other two remain in stable condition with non-life-threatening wounds. Police officers on foot patrol were alerted by a bystander about a man with a knife and subsequently found the victims, providing emergency aid before paramedics arrived. A 29-year-old man, Luis Gerado Terrazas, was arrested in connection with the stabbings, and authorities believe the incident was isolated with no ongoing threat to public safety. Investigators suggest the victims and suspect may have known each other, and police are actively seeking additional information, photos, or videos from the public to assist their investigation. A portion of State Street was closed for several hours as police conducted their investigation.
