Miami Man Arrested After Shooting Father

Adrian Garcia, 25, was arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting his father during a domestic dispute at their Miami-Dade home Saturday night, following an argument over infidelity between Garcia's parents. Garcia's mother left the room and soon heard a gunshot, after which the victim suffered a neck bleed and cervical spine fracture and was transported in critical condition to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Garcia fled the scene with the firearm and was apprehended by police hours later, who also found a spent casing in his bedroom and blood in the hallway. He invoked his right to remain silent upon arrest and is being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond. Authorities noted this is not Garcia's first domestic violence-related charge, citing a 2019 misdemeanor battery arrest. The investigation is ongoing and police are seeking further information from the public.
