Novak Djokovic, along with former Formula 1 drivers Felipe Massa and Kevin Magnussen, has joined a group of investors acquiring stakes in French Ligue 2 football club Le Mans FC. This investment is led by the Brazilian sports investment firm OutField and includes Georgios Frangulis, CEO of OakBerry, who is also known as Aryna Sabalenka's boyfriend. Le Mans FC, which has recently been promoted and celebrates a unique connection to motorsport, aims to leverage the diverse expertise of its new stakeholders to grow sustainably and enhance its brand identity. Djokovic's mental strength and sporting success, combined with the motorsport backgrounds of Massa and Magnussen, are seen as valuable assets to the club's future ambitions. The club president Thierry Gomez emphasized the need to adapt to a changing economic model in football, aiming to fill stadiums and build on the city's rich sporting heritage. The new partnership marks a significant milestone for Le Mans, which has climbed from the fifth tier after financial troubles to its current position, with hopes of continued growth on and off the pitch.
