John Williams to Score Spielberg's June 2026 UFO Film

John Williams, 93, is composing the score for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming untitled, reportedly UFO-themed Universal “new original event” film. The film is scheduled for release in June 2026 and marks the 30th collaboration between Spielberg and Williams. Reported cast members include Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colman Domingo, Colin Firth and Eve Hewson, and the screenplay is by David Koepp; plot details remain undisclosed. Williams had suggested he might retire after scoring Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny but has since reversed that decision to return for this project. Juilliard president Damian Woetzel confirmed Williams’s involvement at a recent event.
