2025 Epson International Pano Awards Recognize Global Photography Excellence

The 2025 Epson International Pano Awards, the world's largest competition for panoramic photography, announced its winners, showcasing breathtaking images from around the globe. Italian fine-art landscape photographer Alessandro Cantarelli, known as Alex Wides, was named Open Photographer of the Year and won the Nature/Landscape category with his striking entries "Last Fireworks," "Jackpot," and "Mann," which feature desert sunsets, Northern Lights in Norway, and moonlit snowscapes in the Dolomites. The Epson Digital Art Prize was awarded to Spanish photographer Daniel Viñé for his evocative coastal images from Vietnam and Utah, including the RAW Planet Award-winning "Cathedral of Shadows." This year’s competition highlighted a rise in ultra-wide panoramas and innovative perspectives such as low angles, close-ups, and aerial shots, alongside an increase in Northern Lights photography linked to the solar cycle maximum. Epson Australia managing director Craig Heckenberg praised the creativity and technical mastery shown by participants, noting the significance of wide-format panoramas that Epson printers can vividly reproduce. Other notable winners include Kevin Nyun from the USA as Amateur Photographer of the Year and William Chua from Singapore for Southeast Asia Open Photographer of the Year.
