Clearwater Woman Killed, Man Injured in Wichita Crash

A tragic two-vehicle crash occurred Saturday evening at the intersection of K-42 and Tyler Road in southwest Wichita, resulting in the death of 78-year-old Louisina Kay Mishler of Clearwater. Mishler was a passenger in a Chevrolet Blazer that collided with a Dodge Challenger attempting a left turn onto Tyler Road. The Blazer rolled onto its roof, trapping Mishler and the driver, a 78-year-old Clearwater man, who was seriously injured and hospitalized. The 24-year-old driver of the Challenger sustained minor injuries and declined hospital treatment. Preliminary investigations suggest that the Challenger driver failed to yield the right of way, though impairment is not suspected and all occupants were wearing seat belts. The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash to determine any potential charges.
