Teenage Boy Dies After River Wyre Rescue Attempts Lancashire
A teenage boy tragically died after getting into difficulty in the River Wyre near Garstang Cricket Club in Lancashire. The incident occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, when members of the public found the boy and administered CPR on the riverbank before he was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he passed away the following day, May 18. Police have confirmed the boy's identity has not been released and are appealing for any information from the public to aid their investigation. Eyewitnesses noted that the area is known to be dangerous, with warning signs, and that young people have previously been seen taking risks in this part of the river. Authorities have expressed their condolences to the family and urged anyone with relevant information to contact them.
