Inmate Escapes Custody at Sea-Tac in Shackles
Sedrick T. Stevenson, a 28-year-old inmate with a prior history of escape attempts, escaped custody at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Sunday morning while being extradited to Kentucky. Stevenson, who was in handcuffs and shackles, slipped away from a contracted agent during check-in and fled toward the airport's light rail station. He successfully boarded a northbound train and was last seen exiting at Seattle's Capitol Hill station. Stevenson, wanted on multiple warrants from Bowling Green, Kentucky, and previously involved in a high-speed chase and a 2022 escape attempt, is now also wanted for second-degree escape. Authorities report that airport operations were not affected. The public is urged to contact 911 with any information on his whereabouts.
