Aurora Man Sentenced 40 Years for Massive Child Exploitation Case

Aaron Marshall Mocalkins, a 31-year-old man from Aurora, Colorado, has been sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to three felony counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Investigations revealed Mocalkins possessed thousands of explicit images and videos involving minors, including infants, which he stored and shared via the social media app Kik. Authorities also found videos of Mocalkins engaging in sexual acts with children and an animal. The case, which began in 2022 following a tip from the Colorado Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, highlighted the coercion of minors into sending explicit content and the ongoing victimization of children depicted in such material. Prosecutors emphasized the lasting harm caused by these crimes and the importance of holding offenders accountable to protect children. Mocalkins is also required to pay restitution to his victims as part of the sentence.
