Ocala Teen Arrested for Homecoming Party Shooting With No Injuries

A 17-year-old named Zachary Sarrach was arrested in connection with a shooting at a bonfire party celebrating Forest High School's homecoming in Marion County. The shooting occurred after a physical altercation erupted at the party, where Sarrach pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at another juvenile, though no one was injured. Deputies and detectives identified Sarrach through a social media video and a tip from an Ocala police officer familiar with him, leading to his arrest after his mother brought him to the sheriff's office. Sarrach admitted to having the firearm at the party, being involved in the altercation, and threatening to shoot if attacked. He faces multiple charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon and a minor, carrying a concealed firearm, public discharge of a firearm, and use of a firearm during the commission of a felony. The investigation involved cooperation between the Marion County Sheriff's Office and the Ocala Police Department.
