Chelsea Midfielder Rytting Kaneryd Extends Contract Until 2027

Chelsea midfielder Johanna Rytting Kaneryd has signed a contract extension that will keep her at the club until summer 2027. Since joining Chelsea from BK Häcken in August 2022, the 28-year-old Sweden international has made over 100 appearances and played a key role in the team’s success, winning three consecutive Women’s Super League titles, two FA Cups, and a League Cup. Rytting Kaneryd featured prominently in the 2024-25 season, helping Chelsea secure an unbeaten domestic treble while scoring five goals in the league. She expressed her happiness at extending her stay, describing Chelsea as feeling like home and emphasizing her desire to continue improving. Chelsea's head of women's football, Paul Green, praised her importance to the squad and looks forward to her continued progress. Additionally, Rytting Kaneryd was honored with the Diamond Ball award as Sweden's best female footballer in the previous year, highlighting her outstanding performance on both club and international stages.
