Dave Portnoy Fires Waitresses, Plans Auschwitz Trip for Anti-Semitic Offenders

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy responded to an anti-Semitic incident at a Philadelphia bar, where patrons ordered a derogatory sign, by initially threatening to publicly shame those responsible and firing the two waitresses who served them. After reflecting, Portnoy decided against permanently ruining the offenders' lives, noting their youth and intoxication, and instead chose to use the situation as an educational opportunity. In collaboration with Robert Kraft, who leads the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, Portnoy arranged for the individuals involved to tour Auschwitz, hoping the experience would teach them about the gravity of their actions. Portnoy, who is Jewish, remarked on the increase in anti-Semitism he has witnessed recently and emphasized the importance of turning hateful incidents into learning moments rather than solely punitive ones.
