Dolphins Select 4 WRs, Maryland Safety in 2025 NFL Draft
The Miami Dolphins were active during and after the 2025 NFL Draft, selecting Michigan defensive tackle Kenneth Grant in the first round and Arizona guard Jonah Savaiinaea after trading up in the second round. On the third day, they focused on defense by drafting Maryland safety Dante Trader Jr., who is recognized for his physicality and intelligence but has a smaller frame and less top-end speed than typical NFL safeties. Trader is expected to compete for a starting safety role following the departures of Jevon Holland and Jordan Poyer. After the draft, Miami prioritized undrafted wide receivers, signing four prospects including Andrew Armstrong, a tall, physical receiver; Monaray Baldwin, a speedy slot receiver and return specialist; Theo Wease, a seasoned possession receiver; and A.J. Henning, another slot receiver with punt return experience. These moves reflect the Dolphins' emphasis on bolstering roster depth and competition at key positions.
