Michigan State, UConn Schedule Exhibition Series

Michigan State and UConn men's basketball teams have scheduled a home-and-home exhibition series, starting October 28, 2025, in Connecticut, with the return game set for 2026 in East Lansing. This represents the first time the NCAA is permitting such preseason exhibitions between Division I teams without a waiver. Both programs are historically successful, having split their previous eight regular-season meetings and combined for eight national championships. UConn is coming off back-to-back national titles in 2023 and 2024, but exited in the second round of the 2025 NCAA tournament, while Michigan State recently reached the Elite Eight and claimed a Big Ten title. These exhibition games will not count toward official records but are expected to provide high-level competition ahead of the 2025-26 season. The last home-and-home series between the teams occurred in 1998-99 and 1999-2000, with each side winning at home and going on to win the national championship that season.
