James Gunn Eyes Gradual Justice League Introduction
James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios and director of the upcoming Superman film, has stated that the Justice League does not yet exist in the new DC Universe (DCU), but their introduction is being considered as the franchise develops. Gunn is currently focused on individual heroes and smaller teams, such as the Justice Gang—featuring Hawkgirl, Guy Gardner's Green Lantern, and Mister Terrific, supported by Maxwell Lord—who will appear in the Superman movie but are distinct from the Justice League. Future DCU projects include new Batman and Wonder Woman films, as well as the Lanterns series. Superman actor David Corenswet expressed excitement for potential team-ups but prefers not to speculate on long-term plans. Gunn's approach involves a gradual build-up to a Justice League film, dependent on the success of initial projects. The DCU strategy centers on careful universe-building, with Gunn hinting the Justice League may eventually appear.
