Multiple NCAA Woman of the Year Nominees Highlight Collegiate Athletic Excellence

Several female collegiate athletes have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in academics, athletics, and community service as nominees for prestigious awards in 2025. Bernadette Doyle of the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa was named a Big West nominee for the NCAA Woman of the Year award after leading her water polo team to multiple championships and national semifinal appearances. Gretchen Walsh, a Virginia swimmer, was honored as the 2024-25 Academic All-American of the Year across all NCAA Division I sports, boasting an exceptional collegiate swimming career and academic record. Riley Edmundson from UNC Asheville was nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year, recognized for her leadership, academic excellence with a 3.92 GPA, and community involvement. Georgia Brown from the University of South Florida was named the American Conference Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year for her accomplishments in women's soccer and academics. Additionally, Kailey Jones, a basketball alumna from AHSTW who set school rebound records at Luther, was nominated for the NCAA Woman of the Year award from the American Rivers Conference.
