James Gunn’s Superman Film Reveals Alternate Villain, Suit Concept Art

Recent concept art for James Gunn's 2025 Superman movie has provided fans with alternate looks at key visual elements, including the iconic Superman suit worn by David Corenswet and the villainous Engineer, portrayed by María Gabriela De Faría. The Engineer, a metahuman antagonist with nanites enabling her to form solid objects, is a major player in Lex Luthor's team and nearly defeats Superman in the film. Concept artist Constantine Sekeris shared these designs, emphasizing efforts to stay true to the comic source material while incorporating unique features like costume breathing vents for the Engineer. De Faría described the physically and emotionally demanding experience of playing the Engineer, highlighting the character's intense physicality.
