Family Files Lawsuit After NY Mom Falls Overboard on Taylor Swift-Themed Cruise
Dulcie White, a 66-year-old New York woman, tragically fell overboard and died during a Taylor Swift-themed cruise on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas last October. Her family has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Royal Caribbean, alleging that she was overserved alcohol, consuming at least seven drinks within a little over six hours, despite showing clear signs of intoxication such as slurred speech and swaying, which crew members allegedly ignored. White had purchased an unlimited drink package that may have encouraged excessive drinking, and a fellow passenger had to assist her back to her cabin before she went out onto the balcony, where she climbed the railing and fell. The lawsuit also questions the crew's response after she went overboard, claiming that standard search and rescue operations were not properly conducted. White's daughter, Megan Klewin, witnessed the fall and described her mother's intoxicated state and the tragic incident as her last memory. The cruise and the Taylor Swift-themed event were not affiliated with the singer herself, and the family is pursuing justice for negligent service of alcohol and the emotional distress caused.
