Big East Moves Headquarters to Empire State Building New York

The Big East Conference is relocating its headquarters this fall to nearly 8,000 square feet of office space in the iconic Empire State Building in Manhattan, moving from its previous location on the East Side where it had been for over a decade. This move places the conference closer to Madison Square Garden, the venue for its men's basketball tournament for the past 43 years, reinforcing its historic ties to New York City. Big East Commissioner Val Ackerman expressed excitement about the relocation, highlighting how it strengthens the league's position at the center of sports, business, and media worlds. The new headquarters will offer modern amenities including dining options, a private fitness center, sports courts, a conference center, and even golf simulators. The move also reflects a growing partnership with Empire State Realty Trust, which has collaborated with the Big East on various promotional events during the tournament. Lease negotiations involved representatives from Newmark, Proskauer, and the property owner, solidifying the agreement for the upcoming relocation.
