Coatesville Officer Arrested for Filming Minors at YMCA

Mark Mackrell, a 52-year-old part-time police officer from Coatesville, Pennsylvania, was arrested and charged with photographing a sexual act, stalking, and unlawful contact with minors after allegedly filming and photographing underage girls at the Brandywine YMCA in East Goshen Township, Chester County. The investigation was triggered when a mother reported her 14-year-old daughter's suspicions of being recorded at the pool; Mackrell refused to identify himself but displayed a police badge when confronted. A search of Mackrell's phone revealed images and videos of at least 11 minors, including children as young as 8, some zoomed in on private areas and accompanied by sexually explicit comments. Mackrell allegedly admitted to sharing some videos via Snapchat. The Millbourne Borough Police Department suspended Mackrell and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward child endangerment. Mackrell was released on $100,000 bail as the Westtown-East Goshen Police Department continues to investigate and seeks further information from the public.
