Publix opens new stores in Chesapeake, Charlotte

Publix Super Markets is expanding its presence in both Charlotte, North Carolina, and Chesapeake, Virginia, with new store openings. In east Charlotte, Publix will open a nearly 47,000-square-foot store at 12925 Albemarle Road, anchoring the Clear Creek Crossing development and hiring about 140 employees. This marks the 25th Publix in the Charlotte market as the company continues to grow amid intense regional grocery competition. In Chesapeake, a new 48,000-square-foot Publix store opened at Dominion Station, also bringing in around 140 jobs and offering amenities like a drive-thru pharmacy and catering services. Publix representatives expressed enthusiasm about serving new communities and emphasized their commitment to quality service. The expansion reflects Publix's ongoing strategy to increase its footprint in key Southeastern markets.
