Pennsylvania Grant Programs Support Schools and Environment

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection is offering grants up to $50,000 to non-profits involved in food recovery, aiming to reduce food waste and combat hunger. Secretary Neil Weaver announced a new digital resource on PA.gov to simplify access to over 300 state grant programs for residents, businesses, and non-profits. Additionally, over $65.7 million in grants has been allocated for school renovations in Allegheny County, with substantial funding aimed at improving public school facilities. The Philadelphia Regional Port Authority secured more than $77.6 million to electrify its cargo-moving equipment, part of a federal initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at ports. A new program, Solar For Schools, will provide $25 million in grants to help school districts install solar panels, significantly reducing energy expenses. These initiatives reflect Pennsylvania's commitment to sustainability, public welfare, and educational improvement.
