Richmond, Pinole Men Charged in Separate Murder Cases

Two separate murder cases have resulted in charges in Richmond and Pinole. In Richmond, Rasheed Fleming, 24, was arrested and indicted for the March 25 shooting death of 20-year-old Kanye Lewis in Whitcomb Court, with his trial scheduled for September 22. In Pinole, 27-year-old Miguel Patino is charged with murder and elder abuse after allegedly attacking Vera Rowsey—a former local school principal—and another person near Bayfront Park on May 28; Rowsey died from her injuries on June 4. Patino has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody, with a preliminary hearing set for July 25. Authorities have not disclosed motives or further details in either case.
