Two Arrested, €3M Heroin Seized in Dublin Operation
Irish police arrested two men and seized approximately €3 million worth of heroin during a targeted operation in the Coolock area of north Dublin. The Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau intercepted a vehicle and discovered over 21 kilograms of suspected heroin, which has been sent for forensic analysis. One man in his 30s was arrested at the scene, while a second man in his 40s was detained later at a different location; both are being held under anti-gang legislation. The suspects are reported to be a 34-year-old from Spain and a 44-year-old from the UK. Authorities emphasized that disrupting heroin trafficking remains a central focus, given its especially harmful impact on individuals and communities, and vowed to continue targeting both local and transnational criminal organizations. Assistant Commissioner Angela Willis highlighted the ongoing commitment to combatting heroin supply and its broader societal effects.
