UAE to Host T20 Tri-Series Before Asia Cup

Afghanistan, Pakistan, and the UAE will participate in a T20 tri-series at Sharjah Cricket Stadium from August 29 to September 7, 2025, as preparation for the Asia Cup. The round-robin tournament will feature each team playing the others twice, with the top two advancing to a final, all matches scheduled for 7 pm local time. This series replaces a previously planned Pakistan-Afghanistan bilateral T20I series. Pakistan (ranked 8th) and Afghanistan (ranked 9th) have already qualified for the 2026 T20 World Cup, while the UAE (ranked 14th) must still qualify via regional tournaments later in the year. The tri-series provides the UAE with valuable experience against higher-ranked teams and serves as a warm-up for the Asia Cup, which begins September 9 in the UAE.
