Uzbek President Mirziyoyev Engages US Officials to Expand Strategic Partnership

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to host Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Washington next week, following a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations. Discussions led by Trump's Special Envoy Sergio Gore and Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau in Uzbekistan focused on expanding cooperation in trade, industry, energy, finance, agriculture, and digital technologies, as well as enhancing regional security and combating terrorism. Both sides emphasized the importance of economic reforms in Uzbekistan and explored opportunities for joint projects, including support for socio-economic development, youth and women's initiatives, and educational collaboration. The upcoming visit aims to build on agreements made in a previous meeting in New York and prepare for the C5+1 summit, which will advance dialogue between Central Asia and the U.S. Overall, the engagement reflects a deepening political dialogue and commitment to broaden business and security cooperation.
