Pueblo Arrests 25-Year-Old for Fatal Overnight Shooting, 17th Homicide of 2025

The Pueblo Police Department has reported two separate shootings resulting in fatalities in early November 2025. In the first incident, occurring near Acero Avenue and Anasazi Street, 25-year-old Darian Cocilo was arrested and charged with first-degree murder after a man was shot and killed; this marks Pueblo's 11th homicide of the year. The shooting involved 15 rounds, and authorities described it as an isolated event with no ongoing threat to the public. In a separate early morning shooting on W. 13th Street, 27 rounds were fired, leaving two victims injured; one later died while the other remains in stable condition. Investigators characterize this second shooting as a targeted incident with no identified suspect so far, contributing to Pueblo's 12th homicide of 2025. Compared to last year, the city is experiencing fewer homicides at this point in the year, with 17 reported by this time in 2024.
