Spirit Adds Nonstop Key West Route, Launches Contest

Spirit Airlines will launch the only nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale and Key West on November 6, 2025, operating four times weekly before expanding to daily service from December 18 to accommodate winter travel demand. The 50-minute route will be flown on Airbus A320 aircraft and provides a faster alternative to the four-hour drive, aiming to stimulate tourism and economic activity in South Florida and the Keys. Introductory one-way fares start at $79 for advance bookings, with three fare classes—Spirit First, Premium Economy, and Value—available. Key West will become Spirit's eighth Florida destination, strengthening the airline's regional presence. Spirit is also launching a sweepstakes in partnership with Visit Lauderdale, offering round-trip airfare and a luxury stay to promote Fort Lauderdale as a travel hub. These initiatives underline Spirit's commitment to expanding intra-Florida connectivity and enhancing the passenger experience.
