Magee described feeling objectified and uncomfortable, alleging that contestants were expected to entertain affluent male sponsors as a form of gratitude for financial support. Miss World officials denied the accusations, calling them false and inconsistent with the contestants' experiences. Despite the allegations, the event concluded with the crowning of Chuangsri and recognition of other top contestants, including Ukraine's Maria Melnychenko, who reached the top eight.
