Kristian Clarke earns maiden New Zealand ODI call-up replacing injured Matt Henry

New Zealand has called up 24-year-old all-rounder Kristian Clarke for his maiden One Day International (ODI) debut, replacing Matt Henry, who is sidelined due to a left calf strain. Clarke joins the squad ahead of the third and final ODI against England, scheduled at Sky Stadium in Wellington. Clarke enters the team on the back of impressive domestic performances, including an unbeaten century and a three-wicket haul in a recent Ford Trophy match, and has accumulated 332 runs and 52 wickets in 31 List A games since his domestic debut in 2022. New Zealand has already secured the ODI series against England with wins in the first two matches, and Clarke's inclusion aims to maintain the team's strong momentum. Clarke also gained recognition during the 2020 ICC Under-19 World Cup and toured with New Zealand A earlier this year. Following the final ODI, New Zealand is set to host the West Indies for a T20I series starting November 5.
