Fort Campbell Pilot Identified in Fatal Crash
Chief Warrant Officer 2 Dustin K. Wright, a 40-year-old pilot with the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, was killed during a helicopter training exercise at Fort Campbell on June 11. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. and involved another pilot who suffered minor injuries and was subsequently released from the hospital. The Army has not yet released details about the cause of the accident, which remains under investigation. Wright, who served since 2010, was highly decorated for his service. Local, state, and military leaders have expressed condolences and support for the affected families. The tragedy comes amid ongoing safety concerns, as recent similar incidents have occurred at Fort Campbell.
