Pennsylvania Natural Gas Bills Rise Over $9 Starting August

Starting August 1, 2025, gas prices have risen in Prince Edward Island, with regular self-serve gas increasing by 3.0 cents per litre to a range of 151.3 to 152.5 cpl, and premium gas also seeing a similar increase. Conversely, diesel and furnace oil prices have decreased slightly. Meanwhile, in Pennsylvania, National Fuel Gas Distribution Corporation is raising natural gas supply charges, resulting in an average monthly bill increase of $9.57, or about 12%, for typical customers. This raises the average bill from $78.21 to $87.78, a figure higher than previously projected due to rising market prices for natural gas. National Fuel emphasized that these supply costs are passed on to consumers without any markup or profit, with the next potential adjustment scheduled for November 1, 2025. These changes reflect broader trends of fluctuating energy prices affecting consumers in multiple regions.
