She expressed concern about the increasing volume and severity of online abuse and its detrimental impact on younger players entering the sport. In response, tennis organizations such as the International Tennis Federation, Women’s Tennis Association, All England Lawn Tennis Club, and United States Tennis Association launched the Threat Matrix initiative to monitor and combat abusive content on social media platforms and provide support to players. Boulter emphasized that such abuse has become a norm in tennis, underscoring the urgent need for continued protective measures.
