Broncos Trade WR Devaughn Vele to Saints for 2026, 2027 Draft Picks
The Denver Broncos have traded wide receiver Devaughn Vele to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick. Vele, a seventh-round pick in 2024, caught 41 passes for 475 yards and three touchdowns during his rookie season, mostly playing as a slot receiver. The Broncos made the move due to the emergence of other receivers like Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, and Trent Sherfield, who have impressed during training camp and preseason. Vele will join the Saints' wide receiver group, which includes Chris Olave, Brandin Cooks, Rashid Shaheed, and Cedrick Wilson Jr., and is expected to compete for slot snaps behind those starters. The Saints are also in the process of selecting a starting quarterback between Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough, making Vele a valuable addition to grow alongside the new signal-caller. Denver’s trade reflects roster depth improvement and opens opportunities for younger receivers like Courtney Jackson to make the Broncos’ 53-man roster.
