Eagles draft QB Kyle McCord with 181st pick
The Philadelphia Eagles selected quarterback Kyle McCord with the 181st overall pick in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. McCord, who excelled at Syracuse after transferring from Ohio State, set an ACC record last season by throwing for 4,779 yards and 34 touchdowns, despite 12 interceptions. He previously led Ohio State to an 11-0 start in 2023 before transferring, and finished his college career with 8,555 passing yards, 61 touchdowns, and 20 interceptions, completing 66.2% of his passes. In Philadelphia, McCord will compete with Tanner McKee and Dorian Thompson-Robinson for a backup role behind starter Jalen Hurts. His strong statistical performance in college gives him momentum as he seeks a place in the Eagles’ quarterback rotation. The Eagles’ decision to draft McCord adds depth and competition to their quarterback room.
