Flood Emergencies Expand in Southern California
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a series of flood watches, warnings, and advisories across Southern California and parts of the desert Southwest, now affecting Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura, Inyo, and Imperial counties. Flash flood warnings have been declared for Riverside, San Bernardino, Inyo, and Imperial due to imminent or ongoing life-threatening flooding, with many roads reported as impassable. Flood advisories are also in place for minor flooding and hazardous travel in Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Residents are urged to avoid flooded roads, seek higher ground, follow any evacuation orders, and take precautions such as disconnecting utilities and steering clear of submerged electrical outlets. Emergency resources, including sandbags, are available, and updates are being provided by local agencies. The public is strongly advised to monitor official forecasts and heed all warnings to ensure safety.
