Lottie Woad Turns Pro, Set for Major Debut
Lottie Woad, the former top-ranked women's amateur golfer, has turned professional after a standout amateur career that included victory at the Women's Irish Open and a third-place finish at the Amundi Evian Championship, where she missed out on over $650,000 in prize money due to her amateur status. As the first graduate of the LPGA's Elite Amateur Pathway (LEAP), she has secured full LPGA Tour membership for the remainder of 2025 and all of 2026, and Ladies European Tour membership for 2026. Woad left Florida State University with a year of eligibility remaining to pursue her professional career. She will debut professionally at the Women’s Scottish Open and then compete in the AIG Women’s Open at Royal Porthcawl. Her transition is expected to be smooth given her prior major tournament experience. Woad is seen as a transformative talent in women’s golf, motivated by her passion for the sport and now eligible to compete for significant prize money.
