Gov. Abbott Honors 15 Texas Officers at CLEAT Awards

At the 2025 Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas (CLEAT) convention in McAllen, Governor Greg Abbott honored 15 Texas law enforcement officers with the Texas Officer of the Year Awards, recognizing their bravery, service, and dedication to public safety. Abbott emphasized the crucial role law enforcement plays in community safety, stating that people cannot feel safe in their daily lives without their support. He highlighted the state's recent legislative achievement, the toughest bail reform package in Texas history, aimed at keeping dangerous criminals off the streets. Among the award recipients were officers from diverse departments, including Jessica Caro from the El Paso Police Department and Hayden McAdams from Amarillo, who was recognized for his actions during a mass shooting. CLEAT leaders such as President Scott Leeton and Executive Director Robert Leonard also attended the ceremony, underscoring the united front of Texas law enforcement. Governor Abbott expressed his gratitude and commitment to working alongside officers to make Texas safer every day.
