Rochester Man Arrested After Jeep Crashes Into Hornellsville Aldi Following Domestic Dispute

Markiest D. Hartfield, a 30-year-old man from Rochester, was arrested after fleeing a physical domestic dispute involving two victims in Hornellsville, New York. While police were responding to the domestic incident, Hartfield fled in a 2024 Jeep which subsequently crashed through the exterior brick wall of an Aldi grocery store, ending with the vehicle resting on its driver’s side inside the store. Hartfield was found uninjured near the crash scene and taken into custody. He faces multiple charges including two counts of assault, criminal mischief, reckless driving, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The Aldi store has since reopened following the incident. Hartfield was processed and taken to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment.
