Chrysler Recalls 219,000 Dodge Journey, Ram ProMaster Vehicles Over Rearview Camera Defects
Several automotive recalls have been announced affecting various manufacturers and models. Chrysler is recalling over 219,000 vehicles, including certain 2019-2021 Ram ProMaster and 2019-2020 Dodge Journey models, due to cracks in the microprocessor that may cause the rearview camera to malfunction, failing federal rear visibility standards; dealers will replace the cameras at no cost starting late September 2025. Ford is recalling 2024-2025 Mustang vehicles because water intrusion can cause loss of communication with exterior lights, including license plate and tail lights, and 2024-2026 Ranger vehicles due to potential tearing of side curtain airbags during deployment; repairs involve sealing and protective shields and will be free of charge with notifications expected by late 2025 and early 2026. Recreational vehicle maker Tiffin Motorhomes is recalling 2025 GT1 Touring vans because rear bench seat belt buckles may be too short to fasten properly, increasing injury risk, with replacements provided at no cost starting in October 2025. Separately, Stellantis announced the revival of its Street and Racing Technology (SRT) division, aiming to unify high-performance vehicles across Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram brands, with plans for a new Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Banshee model rumored to have close to 900 horsepower, continuing Dodge's legacy of muscle cars like the Demon and Hellcat. These recalls and announcements highlight ongoing safety concerns alongside exciting developments in high-performance vehicles within the automotive industry.
