Modi’s State Visit Deepens India-Saudi Strategic Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a ceremonial F-15 fighter jet escort and a 21-gun salute during his two-day state visit to Saudi Arabia, reflecting deepening defense and strategic ties. Upon arrival in Jeddah, Modi was warmly welcomed by the Indian diaspora and Saudi hosts, including joint performances of patriotic songs. Modi and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman co-chaired the second Leaders’ Meeting of the India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council, focusing on enhanced defense cooperation and expanded collaboration in trade, investment, energy, and people-to-people relations. The visit also highlighted recent joint military exercises and mutual interests in regional peace and stability. Modi referred to Saudi Arabia as a 'trusted friend and strategic ally.'
