Oracle Opens Casablanca R&D Center, Trains 20,000 for Morocco Digital Leap

Oracle has inaugurated a cutting-edge Research and Development center in Casablanca, Morocco, focusing on artificial intelligence, cloud computing, cybersecurity, big data, and graph processing, aiming to bolster Morocco's role as a regional digital hub. The seven-story facility currently employs 300 Moroccan engineers, developers, and technicians, with plans to expand to 1,000 employees by 2027, alongside training over 20,000 Moroccan students in digital disciplines. This initiative aligns with Morocco's Digital 2030 strategy, emphasizing digital innovation, youth empowerment, and economic growth, with government officials highlighting the country's ambition to compete globally through its skilled talent pool. The center is one of ten global Oracle R&D hubs and will develop AI and cloud-based solutions for clients worldwide, supporting not only Morocco’s but also Africa's digital transformation. Oracle also plans to establish public cloud regions in Casablanca and Settat to provide enterprise cloud services across Africa, enabling migration of critical workloads while ensuring compliance with local regulations. This investment underscores Oracle’s commitment to innovation and inclusion, blending international expertise with local talent to build impactful technology solutions.
