Chicago Public Schools Teacher Arrested Distributing Child Pornography

Jaron Woodsley, a 27-year-old Chicago Public Schools elementary teacher and Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra staff member, was arrested and federally charged with receiving and distributing child pornography via the encrypted messaging app Telegram. Federal authorities allege Woodsley sent at least 13 videos and received six videos containing child pornography, including footage depicting the sexual abuse of a child. The investigation involved coordination with Colorado authorities, where another individual was indicted in connection with the case. Woodsley appeared in court and was ordered to remain in custody pending a hearing, facing potential sentences ranging from five to 20 years in federal prison. Chicago Public Schools promptly removed Woodsley from his position and opened an investigation, emphasizing student safety as a top priority.
