Nordic-Baltic Camp Jomsborg Opens in Poland to Train 1,200 Ukrainian Soldiers

Camp Jomsborg, a new military training facility built by Norway in southeastern Poland, has officially opened to train Ukrainian forces as part of a Nordic and Baltic initiative supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression. The camp, located near the Ukrainian border, can accommodate up to 1,200 soldiers simultaneously and offers both basic and advanced training courses, including specialized combat stress and counter-drone modules. Norwegian and Estonian instructors, alongside Ukrainian military experts, are actively involved in training to ensure lessons from the ongoing conflict are integrated. The initiative, known as Operation Legio, symbolizes regional solidarity and aims to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities with equipment and expertise contributed by the Nordic and Baltic countries. The facility also serves as a platform for NATO and allied forces to learn from Ukrainian battlefield experiences. High-level defense officials from Poland, Norway, Estonia, and Ukraine attended the inauguration, highlighting the camp's strategic importance and international cooperation.
