Ex-Viking Everson Griffen Cited for 130 MPH Reckless Driving in Minnetonka
Everson Griffen, former Minnesota Vikings defensive end, was cited for reckless driving and speeding after being pulled over for allegedly driving 130 mph in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 494 in Minnetonka. Griffen is currently on probation stemming from a 2024 DWI conviction and has faced multiple legal issues since, including probation violations and previous reckless driving incidents. In July 2025, he was removed from a Delta flight due to alleged unruly behavior, which Griffen denied. Following his DWI arrest, Judge Gina Brandt ordered Griffen to undergo substance use treatment and a mental health evaluation. Griffen’s ongoing legal troubles include multiple citations for driving violations and probation noncompliance. Court hearings related to his DWI case are scheduled, as Griffen continues to face scrutiny for his behavior and adherence to probation terms.
