14-Year-Old Arrested in Aurora Fatal Triple Shooting
A 14-year-old boy from Colorado Springs was arrested in connection with a shooting near an Aurora fire station that killed 15-year-old K'Tahna Jordin Smith and injured two others, including a 20-year-old woman and another 15-year-old girl. The suspect faces charges of first-degree murder, 10 counts of attempted first-degree murder, and two counts of possession of a handgun as a juvenile. Police found two firearms in the boy's home, which are undergoing ballistics testing to link them to the crime. The shooting occurred early Sunday when firefighters returning to the station discovered the victims and provided aid. Authorities are treating the shooting as an isolated incident and have requested public assistance in gathering more information. The suspect is currently held in El Paso County Jail and will be transferred to Arapahoe County Juvenile Court.
