German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier Begins Three-Day State Visit to Ghana Focused on Bilateral Cooperation
President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany will undertake a three-day state visit to Ghana from November 2 to 4, 2025, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations in areas including trade, investment, technology, and development cooperation. The official program begins with a military Guard of Honour inspection at the Forecourt of the Presidency, followed by a closed-door meeting and bilateral talks with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama. Steinmeier will also attend a State Luncheon and visit the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana's first President. He will engage with young Ghanaian IT specialists and attend a reception at the German Ambassador’s Residence. On the final day, Steinmeier will travel to Kumasi to perform a sod-cutting ceremony at the Kumasi Technical Institute, interact with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology community, visit the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research, and pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene at Manhyia Palace before departing Ghana.
