Montana Manhunt for Ex-Soldier in Bar Shooting

A massive manhunt is underway in Anaconda, Montana, after a bar shooting at The Owl Bar left four people dead on Friday morning. The suspect, 45-year-old Army veteran Michael Paul Brown, reportedly killed a bartender and three patrons before fleeing the scene; he knew all the victims and had no known prior disputes with them, according to the bar owner. Brown, believed to be armed and dangerous, was last seen in the wooded, mountainous Stump Town area west of Anaconda, prompting authorities to lock down the neighborhood and urge residents to stay home and lock their doors. A SWAT team cleared Brown's home, and the search has involved helicopters and drones, with more than a dozen officers deployed to the area. Brown served in the US Army from 2001 to 2005, later joining the Montana National Guard and leaving the military as a sergeant. Authorities are withholding the names of the victims pending family notification, and the community remains on high alert as the search continues.
