Arizona Woman Sues Rose Bowl, Attacker After Concert Assault at RÜFÜS DU SOL Show

Shelby Elston and her fiancé Cain Webb are suing the Rose Bowl venue and Julio Cesar Lopez Zavala following a violent assault during a Rüfüs Du Sol concert where Zavala allegedly knocked Elston unconscious and also injured Webb. The lawsuit accuses the Rose Bowl of negligence in providing insufficient security, as venue staff failed to intervene during the several-minute assault despite being close to the attack. Zavala was arrested and charged with felony assault but pleaded not guilty. Elston suffered serious injuries requiring medical treatment, and her fiancé performed CPR when she stopped breathing. The incident reportedly began after a partially spilled drink led to Zavala becoming agitated and attacking multiple people. The couple is seeking financial compensation for their injuries and related damages, while the Rose Bowl has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.
